Pages designed before the structure is agreed
When visual design starts before the page list and navigation are settled, every structural change forces layouts to be redrawn. The prettiest page can still sit in the wrong place.

Desktop-only mock-ups
A design approved on a wide screen leaves the phone version to be improvised in development. Menus, tables, forms and long headings are the first things to break.

Designs developers cannot build as drawn
Inconsistent spacing, one-off components and undefined states (hover, error, empty) turn a handoff into a long list of questions that the designer is no longer around to answer.

Screens instead of a system
Ten beautiful pages do not make page eleven easy. Without shared type, spacing and component rules, every later page is another design project.

Design as a sequence of decisions, each one reviewed.
We design in layers: first what the site must do and how people move through it, then what each page is made of, and only then how it looks. Each layer is reviewed before the next one begins, which keeps late changes small and keeps the final files buildable by any competent developer.

Designing for US teams
Design review works well when it can happen asynchronously.
We work remotely from Mumbai, India, with no US office. For design, that means feedback moves through annotated files and short recorded or live walkthroughs, with review windows agreed up front.
Stakeholders in more than one place
Design files are shared so each reviewer can comment on the exact element they mean. We consolidate comments into one list per round and ask who has final say on conflicts.
Phone and desktop journeys both matter
Visitors may research on a phone and complete an enquiry on a laptop. Journeys are drawn across both, so the second visit picks up where the first left off.
Structures that can grow
A business serving customers in several states often needs space for region-specific information later. We leave room for that in the page structure instead of forcing a redesign when it arrives.
Accessibility-aware, not compliance-labelled
We design with readable contrast, visible focus and sensible tap targets as standard practice. We do not certify a design against any legal standard; your own advisers decide what your sector requires.

Each step produces a file or a decision you can approve before the next one starts. Durations are confirmed in the written proposal.
Brief and audit
We confirm goals, audiences and constraints, and audit the current site if there is one. Output: a written brief and a prioritised list of findings.
Structure and journeys
Sitemap, navigation and the main visitor journeys drawn for review. Approval: you confirm the page list and labels before any layout work.
Wireframes
Layouts for key pages at phone and desktop widths, in black and white. Review: one consolidated round of feedback on structure and message.
Visual design
Brand, type, colour and imagery applied to the approved wireframes. Decision: you confirm the direction on key pages before it extends to the rest.
Handoff
Components, states and notes organised for the builder, plus a walkthrough of the files. Output: the final design set and a short list of open questions for development.

Yes. A design-only engagement ends with organised files and written handoff notes that your own developer or another studio can build from. We can also review the finished build against the design if you want that included.
The number of rounds for each stage is written into the proposal. We ask for consolidated feedback per round, which keeps changes focused and the schedule predictable for both sides.
Key pages are designed for phone, tablet and desktop together, and we check the phone layout first because it is the most constrained. Desktop is then widened deliberately rather than treated as the default.
We design with readable contrast, visible focus states and comfortable tap targets, and we describe those choices in the handoff notes. We do not issue legal or conformance statements; your own advisers should confirm what your sector requires.
