Small business web design · essentials · phased scope
Small business web design for US owners,
scoped to what you can launch, run and grow.
A small business site does not need every feature on day one. We help you decide the pages and enquiry paths that matter, build them mobile-first, choose an editing tool your team can manage and leave room to add more later. Delivered remotely from Mumbai, India.
- Essential pages
- Clear enquiries
- Mobile-first
- Phased scope
- Easy handover

What small businesses run into
The risk is rarely too little website. It is too much, too soon.
- 01
A project sized for a larger company
Agencies used to bigger accounts propose long feature lists. A small business needs a site that can be finished, paid for and maintained by the people who actually run the company.
- 02
No clear way to get in touch
Visitors arrive with a question and leave when the phone number, form or booking link is hard to find. A pretty site that hides the next step wastes the visit.
- 03
A site only one person understands
When updating opening hours or adding a service needs the original developer, small edits pile up and the information on the site slowly drifts away from reality.
- 04
Everything decided in one go
Choosing every page and feature up front forces guesses. Starting with the essentials and learning from real visitors makes later choices better informed.
Our approach for small teams
Launch the essentials well, then grow on evidence.
We agree a short list of pages and one or two enquiry paths, build them carefully for phones first, and set up editing so routine changes take minutes. Anything beyond that goes into a written list for a later phase, so the first launch stays achievable and the second is planned rather than improvised.
- A short page list tied to the questions customers actually ask.
- One obvious next step on every page: call, enquire or book.
- A phone-first layout, checked on real devices before launch.
- An editing tool matched to the person who will use it.
- A written phase-two list, so ideas are kept without inflating phase one.

Working with a small team remotely
Small teams need fewer meetings and clearer summaries.
We work remotely from Mumbai, India, with no US office. For small businesses, that works well when the process asks for little of your time and records every decision in writing.
Short, scheduled sessions
You are probably running the business while reviewing the site. We keep calls short, book them in advance and follow each one with a written summary of what was decided.
Feedback in one place
Rather than comments scattered across messages, we ask for one consolidated reply per review, which is faster for you and avoids contradictory changes.
Scope and billing in writing
Pages, features, payment stages and what is excluded are set out in the written proposal. We do not publish prices, and we do not begin work until you have read and approved the terms.
Customers on phones and computers
Your customers may find you on a phone and call from it. The design makes the call button, address and hours the easiest things to reach on a small screen.
How we work
A small business site in five short, reviewed stages.
The process is deliberately light. Every stage ends with something you can approve, and timings are confirmed in the proposal.
Short discovery
A call and a brief questionnaire about your customers, services and current site. Output: a one-page brief for your approval.
Page list and proposal
The pages, enquiry paths and phase-two list in a written proposal with billing stages. Decision: you approve, change or pause.
Design and content
Key pages designed for the phone first, with your content placed and gaps flagged. Review: one consolidated round of feedback.
Build and testing
The site is built and tested on real devices, including forms and phone links. Approval: you review a staging version and confirm before launch.
Launch and handover
Launch checklist, a short editing guide and a note on what to do next. Output: the handover items listed in the proposal and the agreed phase-two list.
Scope
What is in scope for a small business project.
Every project is sized to the business. This is the typical split between a first phase and later work.

What we can show
Proof that comes from method, not slogans.
We do not publish client counts, ratings or results. What we can show you is how our small-business projects are scoped, built and documented.
- Written phase plans
- A sample phase-one and phase-two list shows how we separate what to launch now from what can wait.
- Phone-first checks
- Layouts are tested on real phones before launch, including forms, tap targets and the call button.
- Plain editing guides
- Short guides with screenshots of your own site, written for the person who will update it.
- Consistent business details
- Contact information held in one place and reused, which prevents the common problem of old numbers surviving on forgotten pages.
Start the conversation
Tell us what your business does and who calls.
A few lines about your services, your customers and your current site are enough to begin. We reply with questions and, where we fit, a right-sized written scope. No ranking, lead or revenue results are promised.
Frequently asked questions
Questions before you start.
We work backward from the questions your customers ask before they buy or call. Usually that points to a handful of pages, and anything else goes onto a phase-two list so the first launch stays manageable.
Yes. We choose an editing tool to suit the person who will use it and write a short guide for routine tasks such as updating hours, swapping photos or adding a service. Anything more complicated is something we discuss first.
Not necessarily. If a simple form or phone link covers how customers contact you today, that is enough to launch. A shop or booking tool can be added in a later phase once the basics are working.
You receive an editing guide and handover notes, and we can discuss an optional maintenance arrangement for updates, backups and monitoring. That is scoped separately so you only pay for care you want.
Not by default. A clear description of the areas you serve usually works better than many near-identical pages. If separate pages would genuinely help customers, we plan them together with real content for each.
No. Nobody can promise rankings, traffic, leads or revenue. We make the site clear and easy to act on, and we describe likely effects only as possibilities to test over time.
