Instagram has been temporarily suspended in the Russian Federation due to government pressure. The Russian government has made it clear that it has no qualms about denying hundreds of thousands of citizens access to these massive communication channels by banning access to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
On Sunday, influencers and business owners from Russia’s 80 million Instagram users met in Moscow to say their final goodbyes to the social media network.
“This is my life, this is my soul,” cried a weeping fashion blogger on her website. This music has awakened me up in the morning and sent me to sleep at night for the past five years… This has made me resentful, and I doubt I’ll ever be able to accept it.”
